Wiley Deck, Area Representative for U.S. Representative John L. Mica, reported to Historic City News that the Congressman will address and participate in the dedication of the new St. Johns County Council on Aging intermodal Transit Center in St. Augustine tomorrow.
According to Deck, Chairman Ron Sanchez, St. Johns County Commission, Cathy Brown, Executive Director, St. Johns County Council on Aging and other local and state leaders will participate.
The celebration is being held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3rd at the new St. Johns County Council on Aging Transit Center located at 2595 Old Moultrie Road in St. Augustine.
“Elderly, disabled, veterans and those without transportation will benefit from this new facility,” said Congressman Mica. “For years, we have worked to improve public transit resources for the residents of St. Johns County. This opening marks a major milestone toward this goal, and I look forward to working with the St. Johns County Commission, local partners and Cathy Brown, Executive Director of the St. Johns COA, to continue toward meeting the goals of our residents—especially those who have no other transportation options.”
This new 6,600 square foot St. Johns County intermodal Transit Center will headquarter the St. Johns Council on Aging and the Sunshine Bus Company and will accommodate administration and maintenance needs.
