Renee Stambaugh, President of the local Sea Oats Chapter of Florida Native Plant Society, announced to Historic City News that the program for their November meeting will be “Plant Identification”.
The meeting will convene at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th at the St. Augustine Beach City Hall.
“Are you smarter than our 10th graders,” Stambaugh asked. “Join us as we learn from our state champion St. Johns County 4-H Club, Plants R Us, and they provide examples from their horticultural competition.
Members and guests attending the meeting will learn to identify trees, ornamentals, foliage, fruits and vegetables and may even be presented with their own challenge. The program is free and open to the public.
This month’s meeting promises to be an educational experience for all.
Prizes include native plants donated by Leonardi’s Nursery and Southern Horticulture.
