Pamela V. Gross of St. Augustine passed quietly at her home Saturday, April 3, 2010; she was 57 years old.
She was born in Newport, R.I., to Kenneth and Charlotte Atkins while her father was stationed there in the Navy.
She became a certified nurse”s aide and worked and volunteered helping others for much of her life. In Lancaster, Pa., she volunteered with the Contact Lancaster Help Line, and Hope House and in Florida she also helped many organizations.
She was a member of the Philoptochos Society and was honored with the Archangel Michael Award in 2009 for her dedication to her faith.
She and her husband moved to St. Augustine to stay in 2007. Pamela loved to spend time on the beach, walking in the sand and the surf. But her favorite thing was to spend time with all of her family. No matter what time of the year it was, it was all ways “like Christmas” when they all got together.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 34 years, Tom. She also leaves her sons, Kenneth (Kathy) and Matthew (Stephanie) Gross; her grandchildren, Ashley and Aiden; her parents, Kenneth and Charlotte Atkins; and her siblings, Billie Sue Beauregard and Marvin Atkins, as well as many other family and friends.
There will be a visitation Friday, April 9, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by the funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. both at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church followed by burial at San Lorenzo Cemetery.
Craig Funeral Home-Crematory-Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
