Born New Years Day in 1969 to Calvin and Brenda Baggett of Hastings, 41 year-old Sandy Scapellati passed away suddenly from natural causes on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in Palatka at Putnam Community Medical Center.
She was a graduate of the 1987 Class of St. Augustine High School and was employed by Niko’s Pizza in Palatka, where she worked for the past 20 years and where she made many friends.
She once worked for Tom Deputy Photography and continued with her own photography business.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palatka. She loved her family very much and her two dogs, Cyruss and Zeva. She was preceded in eternal rest by her beloved mother Brenda Baggett.
Those she leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are her devoted husband of 19 years, Nick Scapellati; daughter, Mia Scapellati; sons, Collin Scapellati and Tyler Scapellati; her father, Calvin Baggett & wife, Bessie; brothers and sisters, Robin Barnes & husband, Dale, Gail Tenney & husband, Kevin, John Baggett & wife, Robin, Bill Sweat & wife, Theresa, Millie Masters & husband, Lawrence, Barbara Ward, Steve Sweat & wife, Charlotte; sister-in-law, Lisa Scapellati; brother-in-law, Sal Scapellati; nieces and nephews, Dixie Lynn Mericle & husband, John, D.L. Barnes & wife Julie, Boe Holley & wife, Ashley, Johnny Joyner, Brittany Baggett and Madison Baggett, Zachary Sweat, Alexis Sweat, Zeth Sweat, Alex Masters, Morgan Masters, and Princess Lara Masters, Ashton Ward, Clayton Ward, Courtni Sweat, Camden Sweat, Ethan Tilton, Mason Tilton, Wesley Baird, Tony Scapellati, and Logan Scapellati; special friends, Pam Sharp, April Padgett, Kristi Ann Sweat, Mary Lou & Greg Brown, Nick & Brenda John, Marsha Whitten and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday April 19th at the First Baptist Church in Palatka with Pastor Dan Davis and Rev. Michael Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to: First Baptist Church Youth Fund, 501 Oak Street, Palatka, Florida, 32177. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka In celebration of her life a memorial video will be shown.
