Historic City News has learned that an email sent by an employee of the Duval County Public Schools encourages people to “vote a straight democratic ticket” and blatantly calls members of the Tea Party “racist”.
Cynthia Jones Humphrey was the technical manager in the Department of Community and Family Engagement and now she’s facing some serious allegations and possibly some serious criminal charges for sending the email — the State Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.
The email was sent to a distribution list, asking recipients to pass it on.
Titled, “Why you must vote” the email reads “These people hate blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate gays.”
But, Humphrey still has a job with the school district — while they investigate.
The School District told local media, “The email communication is a violation of our district policies. Board policy also states that school district employees shall not support any political issues during regular hours on School Board property. Unfortunately, the employee made an error in judgment.”
The State Attorney’s Office is now trying to figure out if that “error in judgment” was a crime.
