Yesterday, Francis Field was awash with re-enactors, living historians and casual pirates from across the seven seas — joining local Historic City News reporters, the crews of the Black Heart and Ancient City Privateers celebrating the Golden Age of Piracy.
As pirate-themed floats lined up today in queue, St. Augustine Police cleared the way for the start of the 3rd Annual Pirate Gathering Parade.
The celebration including weapons demonstrations, a sailor’s encampment, Thieves Market and a live pirate mutiny, continues through tomorrow so there is still time to hear the stories of adventure on the high seas.
All pirates are invited to come ashore dressed in their best piratical pirattitude and enjoy a the rest of this weekend of fun.
