Two incumbents on the City Commission want to be re-elected — Mayor Joseph L. Boles, Jr., and Nancy Sikes-Kline; however, Sikes-Kline has drawn two opponents for her seat and she will have to either catch 50% of the votes cast in the August 24th Primary Election; or, be one of the two top vote getters in the Primary then win in the November General Election.
Charles J. Hennessey and Dutcher Register will challenge Sikes-Kline who is completing her first term in office. Neither Hennessey nor Register has held an elected office in the past, nor had Sikes-Kline prior to her current position.
The City of St. Augustine Commission seats are non-partisan, so, whether you are registered as a Democrat or a Republican, so long as you are registered to vote within the City — you will be able to vote for the candidate of your choice in this race.
