An alert Palm Coast neighbor provided Flagler County deputies the tip they needed to recover about $3,000 in stolen property this weekend according to a report received by Historic City News.
Friday afternoon, the neighbor observed three young men enter a residence through a rear window on the street running parallel to her home.
The witness provided deputies with a description of one White male, one Black male and one Asian male, seen exiting the residence with a television and several other items.
The burglars walked through an empty lot with the property, got into a black pick-up truck and left the area, according to the witness’s statement.
Armed with the tag number and description of the truck, deputies responded to the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Lakeview Drive. After conducting a felony stop on the vehicle, the 17 year-old driver was taken into custody and transported to the Flagler County inmate facility.
The juvenile was the sole occupant of the vehicle, at that time, and, after questioning, he was released to his parents.
Additional investigation by deputies in the immediate area led to the identification and arrest of a second suspect; who was also 17 years-old. The second suspect identified the third unknown suspect and the possible location of the property stolen that was stolen from 29 Lansdowne Lane.
Follow-up investigation by Deputy Sheriff Koenig later that night, led to the location of the third suspect and the recovery of a 42” Sanyo Television, a Wii gaming system, a Sony Play Station II and a back-pack in a wooded area near 4 Linden Place.
On Saturday morning, Koenig re-contacted the third suspect at his residence and was able to recover the last remaining stolen item; a Dell laptop computer.
A Complaint Affidavit was completed against the third suspect who is 18 years-old, and it will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office.
Palm Coast City Manager Jim Landon commended the officers of their good police work yesterday saying, “Always good hear when the good guys win one.”
