New Entrance to St. Johns County Courthouse

Karen Pan reported to Historic City News that due to ongoing Courthouse renovations, the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center in St. Johns County will experience two changes affecting public access.

Suspicious car investigation lands two in jail

The local St. Augustine news desk has learned that Friday afternoon, Police Sergeant Richard Warner responded to the Sunoco Gas Station located on US-1 South to investigate a suspicious vehicle and its occupants.

Channel closed starting this morning

The Matanzas River channel is scheduled to be completely closed to all marine traffic from 8:00 a.m. this morning, Monday, March 29th, until 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3rd.

Vilano Beach icon passes: Mary Kate Hopping

Mary Kate (Mary Kay) Lollar Hopping, born in 1923 to Hugh L. Lollar and Pearl Murray Lollar in Wayne, Okla., formerly of Aurora, Ind., and resident of Vilano Beach, St. Augustine, Fla., passed to the Lord on March 25, 2010.
