The City Commission will convene a public workshop with city staff at 3:00 p.m. Monday on the heels of a meeting earlier this week, where, Historic City News local reporters learned, the troubled First America Foundation, Inc. officially terminated its contract to provide planning and coordination for the 450th Commemoration, as well as three other signature events.
St. Augustine commissioners will move forward, at an accelerated pace, to restructure planning the city’s 450th anniversary during workshop sessions tentatively scheduled before each bi-monthly commission meeting for the foreseeable future.
On the agenda are discussions of a mission statement and operational policy, and branding and licensing of anniversary products and programs.
Also on tap, planning for the inaugural meeting of the federal 450th Commemoration Commission being held here July, 18th.
If you are planning to attend — the St. Augustine City Commission workshop meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. Monday and will be held in the Alcazar Room; on the first floor of City Hall, located at 75 King Street in St. Augustine.
