Aubrey Mulligan reported to Historic City News that the 3rd Annual Grom Comp will begin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 25th.
Participants may register by visiting Surf Station located at 1020 Anastasia Boulevard, or they may register the morning of the competition. Day-of participants are encouraged to arrive by 7:30am to register.
St. Augustine Surf School will be providing youth free lessons throughout the morning. Come cheer on the local talents of our young surf community, and participate in the Keepers of the Coast beach clean-up following the competition, to leave the beach the way we found it.
Last year, Gabe’s Grom Comp drew over 80 kids and this year he hopes to get over 100 kids to participate in the surf competition. Gabe’s goal is to provide a free contest for kids to compete and that everyone receives a prize. Snapper’s Seafood from Jacksonville Beach will be providing a free lunch to all participants.
There will also be a special guest appearance by the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot – Jaxson De Ville. Not only is Gabe one of the biggest fans of the Jaguars but the Jaguars are fans of Gabe and Jaxson is stopping by to cheer on all the kids.
