Historic City News has learned that WSOS “Sunny 94.1″ radio station which recently moved from Saint Augustine to Fruit Cove in St. Johns County flipped to “Classic Rock 94.1″ at 4:00 p.m. today.
According to station owner, Renda Broadcasting, the new format takes WSOS out of competition with sister market leader WEJZ “Lite 96.1”.
The first hour of “Classic Rock 94.1″ consisted of:

Van Halen – Oh, Pretty Woman
Aerosmith – Dude (Looks Like A Lady)
Blue Oyster Cult – Burnin’ For You
Led Zeppelin – Fool In The Rain

“Classic Rock 94.1″ is positioned between Cox’s Rock leaning Classic Hits WJGL “96.9 The Eagle” and WFYV “Rock 104.5”
The WSOS programming is broadcast from 20 miles to the south of Jacksonville and is reported to be deficient in northern portions of the major metro market.
