Minutes ago, Sgt. Charles E. Mulligan reported to the St. Johns County Historic City News desk that “I am heading to the scene” of an apparent fall at a local hotel that has left one person dead.
Hotel management at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, located off of International Golf Parkway, reported the incident this morning.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the circumstances of the fall, reportedly from an internal balcony.
There is no word yet on whether foul play is indicated.
“The investigation is in its preliminary stages,” Mulligan said. “The hotel has requested that media not enter the premises.”
The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village is managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels, Inc.
