Area artists and craftsmen are cordially invited to submit their application to become an exhibitor at the upcoming Old Town Art & Craft Show. The show will be held at Francis Field in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine; December 28 – 29, 2011 (Wednesday & Thursday). This is a juried show that will showcase outstanding artists and craftsmen from Florida and around the country. Categories include: painting, pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, photography, wood, glass, metal, sculpture and mixed media. All work must be of original design and produced by the exhibiting artist or two-person collaboration. The St. Augustine Foot Soldiers Remembrance Project invites everyone to the unveiling of the Foot Soldiers Monument, which is dedicated to the many activists involved in the St. Augustine Civil Rights Movement. The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in St. Augustine’s Plaza de la Constitución. Speakers will share the history of the 1960’s events, and bands will provide entertainment. Following the ceremony, there will be a public reception at A1A Ale House at 1 King St., St. Augustine.
