Deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a residence in the 4000 block of Chester Street in Flagler Estates; according to an incident report received by Historic City News shortly after 4:00 p.m. yesterday.
The 39-year old female victim told deputies that she was on the telephone with her husband when she peered out of the window and observed three young men approaching the residence.
They were all dressed in dark clothing with hoodies or t-shirts covering their faces, according to the witness statement.
In fear for her safety, the victim locked herself in the bathroom and called E-911. When she heard glass breaking, she screamed — startling one of the burglars inside her home.
The three burglars fled the scene. A short time later, as they walked along a nearby ditch line, they were observed getting into the vehicle. Just as they got into the vehicle, they were stopped by deputies.
Three Hastings men were arrested on charges of burglary to an occupied dwelling and wearing a mask or hood during the commission of a crime.
The trio, identified as Ronald Bruce Allen Jr., 24, and Mark Amede Boisvert, 18, both of
4840 Chester St., along with Justin Troy Locke, 21, 5075 Donald St., were booked into the County Jail where they remain in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000 each.
