For the second time in less than 30 days, Historic City News has received a report from the scene of a bicyclist who has been killed in a collision with a truck on SR-214 (West King Street).
Thirty minutes ago, the roadway was reopened to traffic as traffic homicide investigators completed their photography and collected measurements.
On April 13th, 23 year-old student Bryan B. Wrigley was killed in a hit-and-run collision with a passing vehicle — today, Florida Motor Carrier Compliance Officers are inspecting the commercial truck that struck and killed another bicyclist near the Ryan Road intersection with SR-214.
Paramedics with St. Johns County Fire Rescue transported the mortally wounded bicycle rider to Flagler Hospital; where he was pronounced dead.
Pending notification of the family of the victim, his name is not yet being released, Mulligan told Historic City News. No word yet on charges until the investigation is complete and autopsy report is announced.
No one has been charged in the hit-and-run death of Bryan Wrigley; a student at the University of St. Augustine and was a member of a local bicycle riding club. His dead body was discovered in a ditch on the side of the roadway.
