Bridge closing Wednesday night

Posted on 09/16/201102/09/2012 By Historic City News 1 Comment on Bridge closing Wednesday night

FDOT Public Information Director Gina Busscher is notifying Historic City News readers who travel the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine that the bridge will be closed to all traffic Wednesday night, September 21st — beginning at 10:00 p.m.

The closure will allow the painted roadway markings to be removed and replaced with a high-performance tape, Busscher said.

“Traffic will be detoured to the State Road 312 bridge during the closure,” according to Brusscher. “If all goes well, the Bridge of Lions will reopen by 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning.”

In the event of rain, the work will be postponed until the following week.

Gina Busscher is the public information director for FDOT District 2. She has worked for the department since 1985. Prior to her position in public information, she worked as a community involvement coordinator in the district PD&E group. Busscher has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Florida. She worked as a journalist for a number of years.
