Candlelight vigil marks 3-month disappearance

Posted on 01/28/201101/30/2011 By Historic City News

At 6:00 tomorrow evening, Saturday, January 29th, family and friends of 34 year-old Rebecca Ann Ware will host a candlelight vigil to mark the three-month anniversary of her disappearance.

This vigil will be held at the Moultrie Publix parking lot, 4255 US-1 South at Wildwood Drive, where Sheriff’s detectives discovered Ware’s abandoned vehicle; a 2005 Ford Focus. Ware’s home is on Phoenetia Drive in St. Augustine Shores.

Ware has not been heard from since Friday, October 29th at 4:15 p.m., when she left her place of employment; Hydro America.

In mid-November, after investigators revealed that they have evidence of foul play, Hydro America announced a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) who may be responsible for Ware’s disappearance. An additional $1,000.00 reward may be available through the Crime Stoppers organization.

Timothy Johnson, a 40 year-old ex-convict who once lived with Ware and was considered a boyfriend, remains the only person of interest as the investigation continues. Johnson served time for kidnapping and attempted first degree murder during the commission of a felony, as well as aggravated assault with a weapon. Johnson was also convicted of sexual battery while using a weapon or force.
