St. Augustine City Commissioners will gather next Monday to mark the start of the $3.4 million Riberia Street Rehabilitation Project according to an invitation received by Historic City News today.
The brief ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18th and will be held near the intersection of Riberia Street and Bridge Street.
The project, more than five years in the planning, will address a number of infrastructure needs along the Riberia Street corridor south of King Street. Included in the project are installation of new storm-drains and sidewalks, replacement of sanitary sewer, force-mains and water-mains and buried electric lines.
According to Martha Graham, P. E., the city’s Public Works Director, the project will be managed in two phases, each lasting approximately one year. Phase I will be focused on the area between King Street and Bridge Street, and Phase II will include the area south of Bridge Street.
Monday’s ceremony will be held on the north end of the Marine Supply & Oil Company property. Parking is available in the company’s customer parking area during the ceremony.
