Historic City News local crime patrol reporters received word from Media Relations Officer, Kevin Kelshaw, that a 37 year-old registered sex offender was arrested last night — charged with sexual battery on a victim over the age of 12.
Matthew Riley Braddock, who resides at 212 Barracoa Court in St. Augustine, was booked into the St. Johns County Detention Facility; where he remains today in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
In 1995 Braddock was convicted on two counts of lewd and lascivious assault upon a child under the age of 16. He was sentenced to a four-year prison term.
Braddock was sentenced in January 2009 to three year’s imprisonment for failing to register as a sex offender. He was released in March of this year.
Braddock is now charged with sexual assault, a second degree felony, after he was accused of touching the female victim inappropriately Wednesday evening.
After Braddock left her residence, the victim reported the incident to her father.
