During his time with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, Luis has been a valuable asset showing an unwavering drive and dedication to continually provide a positive work environment and a positive image of the department to the community.
He is humble, knowledgeable, virtuous and a pleasure to work with. Luis is always going the extra step to ensure high quality work in all his assignments. He is passionate about what he does and always willing to share what he has learned.

According to Captain Jason Gerona, “When I look back over my career, there are an elite group of people that in my heart and mind made a difference, are motivational and inspiring. Without a doubt, Luis is in this group.”
Etchenique will be formally recognized along with several Department promotions and commendations during a department awards ceremony scheduled for January 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Johns County Administration building Auditorium located at 500 San Sebastian View.
