Dave Bitner, Chairman, Republican Party of Florida is reaching out to Historic City News readers to help register those veterans among us who served during World War II.
During World War II, nearly 250,000 Floridians bore arms to protect our country. Currently, 600,000 World War II veterans live in Florida.
The “Greatest Generation” Tour will not only recognize them for their achievements, but honor and thank them for their heroic sacrifice and service to their country and the great state of Florida.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to honor these veterans,” Bitner told Historic City News. “The prosperity and freedoms we enjoy today are due to the sacrifices of the brave men and women who served during this crucial war.”
On April 30th at the City Hall Atrium in Jacksonville, the “Greatest Generation” tour will honor local World War II veterans. In total, ceremonies will take place in 7 locations across the state.
The location of the City Hall Atrium is 117 W. Duval St. in Jacksonville, FL 32202.
If you know of someone who served during World War II and would like them to be honored at one of these events, please register them at the “Greatest Generation” tour website. http://rpof.org/greatestgeneration/
Registration is required for event attendance. Also, be sure to check the website often for updated news and information.
“I hope that you will join us as we thank the veterans of the Greatest Generation,” Bitner said.
