Historic City News crime reporters have learned that 32 year-old Harry Lewis Henderson is back in custody today at the St. Johns County Detention Facility.
Henderson is being held, without bond, on charges of first degree felony kidnapping and first degree capital murder.
Henderson has been in custody in the Duval County Jail since being arrested on unrelated charges last June. Henderson was convicted on the Duval County charges and sentenced to serve time in the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.
He has been transferred back to our jail to face charges in the murder of a 45-year old Duval County man, James Vincent Brookins; who lived at 7500 Powers Avenue in Jacksonville.
The victim was discovered in the trunk of a 2008 Toyota Corolla that was parked off St. Ambrose Church Road, in Elkton, on April 28th of last year. The victim had been beaten, bound with duct tape and shot.
The investigation revealed that the victim, who was last seen alive in Jacksonville, had been reported missing two days earlier by his mother.
