Historic City News learned from Heidi L. Matheny, Coalition Coordinator for the PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County that her organization will host the inaugural meeting of their central Regional Prevention Council.
Community members who live or work in the central St. Augustine area, who are interested in helping prevent and reduce youth substance abuse, are invited to attend the meeting being held at PACT Prevention Coalition, 1400 Old Dixie Highway Suite B on August 3rd at 6:30 p.m.
The coalition recognizes that the substance abuse issues in one part of the county may not be the same as another part. Therefore, the county has been divided into five Regional Prevention Council areas.
In order to be more effective, the coalition has established regional councils covering the Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, Northwest and Central areas.
Each group works together to find opportunities to prevent and reduce substance abuse in their community.
PACT Prevention Coalition is dedicated to making St. Johns County a healthy substance-free community for our youth through prevention, advocacy, choices and teamwork.
