No injuries in early morning house fire
Lt. Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News that firefighters were called to residential structure fire in a St. Augustine Shores neighborhood during the wee hours this morning.
No one suffered injuries, according to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman, however, the family who resides in the home was forced to evacuate.
First responders were met with heavy smoke and flames; which Robshaw said penetrated the roof of the Sevilla Drive home.
Once help arrived on the scene at about 1:30 a.m. this morning, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control — Robshaw estimates it took no more than 30 minutes.
There are no early estimates of the amount of damage sustained in the blaze, nor is the source of the fire known at this time.
Robshaw said that the Fire Marshal will investigate and more information will be available at that time.
