Just before 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning, St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in Fruit Cove, according to a report received by Historic City News from Lt. Jeremy Robshaw.
Flames were showing, Robshaw said, when crews arrived on the scene to find an un-occupied 1997 doublewide mobile home owned by Noreen D. Fosmire.
Damage to the 1200 square-foot home was limited as firefighters gained entry and launched an offensive attack on the fire. The blaze was contained and no personal injuries were reported.
The extent of loss to the property in the Orange Cove subdivision is unknown. The cause of the fire is under investigation by St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
