Join in Spanish Living History Day
Lindsey Phillips has invited Historic City News readers to join the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in celebration of “Spanish Living History Day”.
October is Hispanic Heritage month, and the Castillo staff has exciting plans for visitor on Saturday, October 1st.
“We will have military marching exhibitions along with cannon and musket firings,” Phillips said. “There will be everything from authentic Hispanic cooking displays to soldier tactics demonstrations.”
Various volunteers and National Park Service staff will perform informal interpretations throughout the day.
The Castillo de San Marcos is open to the public from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. every day of the year except December 25. (The ticket booth closes at 5:00 p.m.) The Park grounds are closed from midnight until 5:30 a.m.
