Executive Director Donna Lueders reported to Historic City News that, as of December, the St. Johns County Education Foundation has a new Supplemental Educational Services program coordinator; Brandee Anderson.
Supplemental Educational Services provides free tutoring in reading and math to struggling students in the county.
Anderson, a former classroom teacher, will oversee the program for the Foundation by managing all the tutors in the county that provide services to underprivileged children. “I am excited to be part of this essential program that positively impacts and enriches our students’ academic experiences,” said Anderson.
Four Title I schools are currently involved in the Supplemental Educational Services Program and over three hundred students are currently being served. Anderson and the St. Johns County Education Foundation are looking forward to expanding those numbers in the future.
