Just after 1:00 a.m. this morning, Historic City News learned that 31 year-old Jose Guillermo Martinez was taken into custody by deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office — and he remains in the County Detention Facility in lieu of $150,000 bond.
The details surrounding his arrest are not being released, according to Public Information Officer Sgt. Chuck Mulligan, because “they are still interviewing additional subjects”.
What is reported is that Martinez, who resides at 2891 North 9th Street in St. Augustine, has been charged with two felony crimes.
Bond was set after Martinez made his first appearance hearing today in the amounts of $100,000 for first degree felony kidnapping, and, $50,000 for life felony sexual assault.
Historic City News was informed at about 1:45 p.m. this afternoon that the agency was in the process of redacting victim information from the arrest report, however, about 45 minutes later, we received word that “apparently they are still interviewing additional subjects, so they can’t release the report yet”.
We will update this article when additional details are released.
