Man facing death penalty for assaults on child

Accusations in St. Johns County that a 66 year-old Fort McCoy man has sexually abused a 12 year-old girl, has led detectives to arrest George Robert Lightkep — who resides at 25344 E 139th Lane Northeast.

Lightkep stands accused of carrying on the abuse with the child-victim over a period of several years and faces similar charges filed in Marion County as recently as August 30.

In details available from the incident report, the alleged abuse included “rubbing the girl’s leg”, “touching her under her clothes”, and “penetrating her with his finger”.

Lightkep forced the victim to perform oral sex on him on multiple occasions over the past four years, according to the report. Lightkep also is accused of performing oral sex on the victim.

Just before 10:30 p.m. last night, Lightkep was booked into the St. Johns County Detention Facility; charged with sexual assault against a child, a capital felony, and lewd and lascivious behavior involving a child, a life felony.

Because if the capital offense, he is being held without bond.
