St. Johns County Sheriff’s media relations officer Kevin Kelshaw informed Historic City News that a couple living in Hastings have been arrested and charged with producing methamphetamine and child abuse.
Still in custody today, 33 year-old Shannon Shon Colley and 27 year-old Anna Marie Buell, who reside at 9655 Franco Avenue in Hastings, are now inmates of the St. Johns County Detention Facility — being held in lieu of $15,000 bond each.
Deputies joined DCF investigators early Saturday morning after receiving word that there was an infant inside the residence where the occupants were allegedly “cooking” methamphetamine.
Buell allowed the DCF Investigator and Sheriff’s Deputies to enter the home to check on the welfare of the other occupants.
Colley and a 1 year-old child were found inside the home — along with several items allegedly used to produce illegal narcotics.
Upon their arrival, Special Investigations Unit detectives discovered a live meth lab in the master bedroom. All occupants had to be decontaminated by Fire-Rescue personnel.
The DCF Investigator took custody of the child.
The investigation is continuing.
