Dean of Florida School of the Arts, Alain Hentschel, announced to local Historic City News reporters that there will be a variety of performing and visual arts events to enlighten and entertain with the Florida School of the Arts 2011-12 seasons.
Hentschel said the season includes something for everyone, with performances including “The Women of Lockerbie,” a poetic drama about the triumph of love over hate, and “Clue: The Musical,” an interactive musical that brings the popular board game to life on stage.
The visual arts calendar will be equally diverse with gallery shows exhibiting drawings, paintings and sculptures by a variety of artists and students.
The new season begins September 1 with an exhibition featuring photography by John Sevigny.

Gallery openings begin at 7:00 p.m. on the first night of the exhibit. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Florida School of the Arts is part of the academic and administrative structure of St. Johns River State College and awards the two-year associate degree. It is located on the SJR State Palatka campus. Admission is based on audition and portfolio review. For more information, call 386-312-4300.
