Motorcycle collision at Palencia

Historic City News has been informed from the scene of a motorcycle collision on Highway US-1 North near the entrance of Palencia subdivision — a sad reminder that this is Bike Week.

At this time, a request is in to Lieutenant Bill Leeper with the Florida Highway Patrol for details on the collision.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputies were first on the scene and assisted with traffic control, however, it is policy that State Troopers will investigate collisions on all state-owned roads, if possible, according to a phone call to Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw.

A passing motorist captured the accident scene on his cell phone camera and forwarded it to the Historic City News desk, however, we are not certain as to the extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries at this time.
