Children’s FLYP Program: “Breakfast Finale”
Wednesday, August 3 @ 10 am – Finish off our 2011 summer reading program with a yummy breakfast! Enjoy bagels, donut holes, fruit, and other breakfast goodies. Children of all ages may attend. Are You Afraid of the Dark? Marathon
Tuesday, August 9 @ 5 pm – Tweens ages 9-12 are invited to enjoy 4 episodes from this vintage ’90’s Nickelodeon show. It’s a THRILLER!
Children’s FLYP Program ENCORE: “Meet Your Local Superheroes!”
Wednesday, August 10 @ 10am – Find out what it takes to be a local superhero! Meet real-life St. Johns County fire fighters, police officers, and lifeguards. Learn safety tips like: fire safety, water safety, internet safety, and stranger danger. Explore a fire truck and a police car! This special event concludes our summer library programming!
Babysitting Workshop for Teens
Thursday, August 11 @ 10:30 am – American Red Cross course for kids ages 11 to 15 will provide basic child care and first aid skills for infants and toddlers. During the course participants will also acquire the skills to identify and apply emergency action steps. Registration is required and there is a fee 904-797-3851.
Summer Family Film Festival
Thursday, August 11 @ 2 pm – This year’s theme is “One World, Many Stories”, so our films will take us around the world this summer! Please call 904-827-6900 to find out what we’re showing.
Teen Financial Literacy Workshop
Saturday, August 13 @ 10 am – Every teen should learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of the FICPA and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up. Subjects will include budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft, and more. For information call 904-827-6900! Lunch will be provided.

Family Board Games
Tuesday, August 16 @ 6 pm – Summer gotcha BORED? Come out and play your favorite BOARD games! We provide classics like Monopoly and UNO but you’re welcome to bring your own. Friends of the Library kindly provide light refreshments.
