Readers say Crist should challenge Scott

Historic City News has learned that in a recent poll, readers of The Florida Current say former Governor Charlie Crist should switch parties and run as a Democrat against Governor Rick Scott in the next election.

The majority of readers answered yes — with 46 percent stating that Crist would easily defeat Scott, and 14 percent agreeing that Crist should run because Democrats have no one else better to offer.

However 40 percent of readers said that Crist should not run against Scott.

21 percent of readers said that Democrats would not support Crist as a candidate, and 19 percent said that Crist shouldn’t run because Republicans are still upset with him.

In April of 2010, then Governor Crist announced that he was leaving the Republican Party to run as an independent in the U.S. Senate race, which he lost to Marco Rubio.
