Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida, Director of Development Darby Stubberfield, extended a word of thanks to sponsors and attendees of the Second Annual Food and Wine Festival in St. Augustine – making the event a tremendous success.
St Augustine Independent Restaurant Association chose the River House at the Council on Aging to host the Festival in September. Guests enjoyed the food and views of the water while listening to tunes courtesy of “The Mood”.
According to Stubberfield, “More than 300 people attended and $12,000 was raised to benefit the children attending the local Boys & Girls Club in St Augustine.”
Proceeds from the event will be used to extend programs and services to children in the West Augustine community, where the Club is strategically located, Stubberfield said.
This spectacular event, to benefit THE PLAYERS Championship Boys and Girls Club in St Augustine, allowed guests the opportunity to enjoy signature dishes from 17 local restaurants and sip fine wines poured from all over the world.
Proceeds from the event will be used to extend programs and services to children in the West Augustine community, where the Club is strategically located, Stubberfield said.
Children in this neighborhood are at a greater risk of poverty, school failure, poor health outcomes and risky behaviors. For the children attending the Club, they are offered hope, love and the opportunity for a brighter future.
Our aim is to not only save these young lives from the deadly alternatives on the streets, but to raise their sights and capabilities toward life at its best. By supporting this event, you have made a significant difference in the life of a child.
