Laurie Sanderson reported the following St. Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through September 30th.
State Road A1A:The closure of the Bridge of Lions which was previously scheduled for last Wednesday night has been rescheduled for Monday night beginning at 10 p.m. The bridge will reopen by 4 a.m. Tuesday. The closure will allow the old traffic markings to be removed and replaced with a high-performance tape. Traffic will be detoured to State Road 312. In the event of rain, the work will again be postponed to the following week.
County Road 13 at Sixteen Mile Creek: Daytime lane closures while crews remove temporary pavement and construct a connection to Cracker Swamp Road. Traffic is not currently permitted to access Cracker Swamp Road directly from County Road 13. Traffic is detoured east on County Road 13 to south on Reid Packing House Road to access Cracker Swamp Road. The speed limit in this area has been reduced to 40 mph.
State Road 16 from the Clay County line to San Marco Avenue: Daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road 206 from State Road 207 to State Road A1A: Daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road 207 from Cypress Links Boulevard to I-95 (the southbound on-ramp): Daytime lane closures for eastbound traffic from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 26 for ditch cleaning.
State Road 207 from Hilltop Road to the Robert Enselin Jr. Armory: Daytime lane closures for southbound traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for asphalt repair.
State Road 312 from US 1 to State Road A1A: Daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road A1A – Summer Haven Bridges (just north of Marineland): Flagging operations are scheduled at the south bridge from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30 to accommodate delivery of materials. Motorists should drive with caution through the construction area and watch for trucks entering and leaving the worksite.
State Road A1A from Mickler Road to the Duval County line: Daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road A1A from the south entrance of Guana Reserve to the north entrance of Guana Reserve: Daytime lane closures for northbound traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tree trimming and bicycle lane cleaning.
State Road A1A from the St. Johns-Flagler County line to Avenida Menendez: Daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road A1A from the St. Johns-Flagler County line to Summer Haven (Sea Wall): Possible daytime lane closures for delivery of equipment and materials.
US-1 at the San Sebastian River Bridge from Saragossa Street to King Street: Nighttime northbound lane closure from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, September 25 to accommodate shifting northbound traffic lanes to the southeast. Nighttime lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. in both directions Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30. All work is related to the US 1 San Sebastian River Bridge replacement project.
US-1 from Rambla Street to 1/2 mile South of Rambla Street: Daytime lane closures for southbound traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 27 through Thursday, September 29 for asphalt repair.
