Historic City News readers are invited to attend tonight when District 2 County Commissioner Ron Sanchez discusses the new County radio system, the County’s application for a Safer Grant and important issues such as EPA mandated water quality standards.
The Molasses Junction Tea Party, an affiliate of the St. Augustine Tea Party and the Tea Party Network, will meet Friday, May 6th, at 7:00 P.M. at the Molasses Junction store located at 6300 CR-214 and the junction of CR-13A.
The County recently announced it would be spending $27.0 million to build a new radio system. There is controversy over whether or not we need to build a new system or upgrade the existing system for less money.
The Federal Government has made a Safer Grant available to staff the newly opened fire station in Palencia for a year. The county will pay non-staff operating expenses, but, in exchange for the one-year grant, the county agrees to maintain all staffing expenses for the following two years.
St. Johns County residents are about to be severely impacted by recently announced regulations imposed by the EPA to strictly regulate nutrients in storm water and irrigation runoff. The regulations will cost St. Johns County residents, businesses and agricultural interests millions of dollars to implement.
The Tea Party is a non-partisan organization of concerned citizens dedicated to smaller, limited, constitutional government and fiscal discipline in government at all levels.
