Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to a residence at 51 Bayview Drive yesterday, September 22nd, to serve a search warrant obtained pursuant to multiple tips from witnesses concerning illegal drug activity in the home.
At the time the warrant was served by the Special Response Team, Kyle Mollgren and Laine Johnson were taken into custody.
Mollgren has been charged with maintaining a drug dwelling, maintaining drug equipment and possession of medication without a prescription and remains in custody today in lieu of $7500.00 bond.
Johnson has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation and remains in custody today in lieu of $500.00 bond.
Code enforcement officials cited the homeowner with several violations; condemning the structure until some repairs can be made.
A second search warrant was served at 21 Evergreen Street.
St. Augustine Police detectives gathered intelligence indicating that juveniles living at this address are involved in several burglaries in the area. Seized in the execution of the search warrant were items that match the description of items reported stolen in the neighborhood burglaries.
Officers verified that a Garmin GPS located in the house was reported stolen in a St. Johns County case last July.
Charges are pending in this case.
