UF Historic St. Augustine, Inc., Property Manager Billy Triay is asking Historic City News readers to assist University of Florida researchers who are trying to locate photographs of Government House in St Augustine during the period it served as a U. S. Post Office and Customs House.
“The University is planning to redesign the museum, including a full restoration of the lobby space,” Triay told reporters.
Contributed photos of the building, both interior and exterior, will assist the designers to produce a historically accurate portrayal of the early 20th century use of the public building.
To donate authentic photographs, which can be reproduced, call Triay at 825-5034. The Government House museum is open Thursday through Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
