St. Johns County deputies were called to a disturbance in Hastings twice yesterday — the second altercation ended in gunfire.
Dead is 43 year-old Eric Brent Felder who lived at 499 North Washington St. in Hastings.
Felder and another man had been arguing early yesterday evening; however, when deputies arrived, the parties did not want to press charges so the deputies left the premises.
At about 8:45 p.m., nearly three hours later, deputies and St. Johns County paramedics returned to find that Felder had been mortally wounded by a gunshot to the head. The victim was transported to Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine where he died.
A relative of the man who fought with Felder earlier in the day, 21 year-old O’Shea Terrell Jackson, was positively identified by witnesses at the shooting scene last night. Witnesses say Jackson fled the area in a blue Chevrolet Impala.
Jackson, who resides at 68 Daniels Street, turned himself in to investigators shortly before midnight and is being questioned by Robbery-Homicide detectives.
Additional arrests are possible as detectives continue the investigation.
