Historic City News has learned that a woman, who has not been heard from since last week and is thought to be living in her car, is the subject of a search by detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
At this time, although her disappearance seems suspicious, Historic City News reporters are being told that there is no evidence of foul play. Concerns were raised last Thursday when clothing, believed to belong to the missing woman, was located in the area of Ocean Trace Road.
Investigators have identified 50 year-old Vera Osteen, who is described as a white female, 5’4” tall, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Her vehicle is a 1996 green 4-door Honda Accord. The Florida license plate number on the vehicle is N040XT.
A relative called the Sheriff’s Office and reported Osteen missing.
Anyone who may have come in contact with Osteen since last week, or, who may have additional information concerning her, should contact Detective Charles Brantley of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304.
