For three weeks this summer, two students will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the rising popularity of citizen journalism when Historic City News offers its second summer internships in St. Augustine.
These paid internships give graduating high school seniors a look at the inner workings of an Internet publishing organization, live news gathering techniques and the use of social networks to enhance interest in current events.
Current and graduating students ages 18 – 21 with an interest in writing, photography and technology will enjoy and benefit from the three-week program and may discover a talent for Internet news reporting.
If you would like to apply for one of these two positions, write a one-page report telling us about your studies, hobbies, any previous internships or employment, school organizations you are involved with and what you would hope to accomplish if selected for an internship.
The report should be an example of your own writing style and not a resume’.
Application reports will be accepted through the close of business on Wednesday, June 15th. If selected, you should be prepared to begin your internship on Monday June 20th and continue through Friday July 8th.
Use the contact form on our website (http://www.historiccity.com/contact-form) to send us your application report — no e-mail attachments.
