Historic City News reporters in St. Augustine have received word that St. Johns County Sheriff’s Detective Jennifer Wiesenfeld is searching for a man who a teenaged girl in Flagler Estates says attempted to abduct her.
Saturday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m., the victim reported that her would-be abductor was a passenger in a vehicle that approached her in the area of Erickson Avenue.
When the girl refused to get into the truck, she told deputies that her assailant grabbed and held her by the wrist until she was able to break free.
The attacker returned to the passenger side of the truck and the driver fled northbound on Erickson Avenue and then turned east on Melanie Street before it drove out of sight.
Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit told Historic City News this morning that the victim was unable to identify the driver of the truck, however, a complete description of the vehicle and her attacker was provided.
The vehicle was described as a newer model, full-size black truck with dark tinted windows and two dark grey roll bars. The outside rearview mirrors have black backs, the victim reported.
The attacker was described as a black male in his late 30’s to early 40’s, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, with a thin to medium build. He was described by the victim as scrawny, with half-inch long black curly hair, wearing a dark blue windbreaker jacket with a light blue inner collar.
