City of St. Augustine Deputy Director of Public Works, Todd Grant, announced to Historic City News today that travel along Riberia Street, from King Street to Bridge Street, would resume Friday evening.
Minor construction work will continue to be performed on Riberia Street causing some temporary lane closures over the next 30 days.
The posted speed limit on the newly resurfaced Riberia Street is 25 mph. Due to heightened safety concerns, Chief of Police Loran Lueders has instructed officers that the speed limit in the area must be strictly enforced.
More than five years of planning moved into action April 17th when the City held a special ceremony to mark the start of the $3.4 million Riberia Street Rehabilitation Project.
Traffic will return to Riberia Street starting at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 23.
