Truck collides with body of man on SR-206

Posted on 02/10/201102/13/2011 By Historic City News

At about 1:25 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol Master Corporal Peter G. Young reported to Historic City News local reporters, that he responded to the scene of a call from a motorist that apparently ran over a man as he laid in the roadway on SR-206.

Timothy Allen Hall, Jr., who lives on Cypress Point Circle in East Palatka, was driving home in his 1997 Ford Pickup truck early this morning; headed westbound on SR-206. Approximately 3.4 miles west of Interstate 95, he collided with an object that was in the path of his vehicle.

“That section of SR-206 is dark with no artificial lighting,” MCPL Young told Historic City News.

Hall realized that he struck the body of a man after he pulled off onto the north shoulder of the rural highway, and immediately called E-911.

Young, a Homicide investigator for FHP Troop-G, determined that Hall was operating his truck at the posted 60 mile-per-hour speed limit when he crashed. Hall was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the operation of Hall’s vehicle, according to the report.

The family of 46 year-old Michael D. Wiesner, who lived at 301 San Mateo Road in San Mateo, was notified of the collision. Wiesner was dead at the scene.

No decision can be reached on Wiesner’s cause of death, or, if he died before, or, as a result of the collision; pending completion of the autopsy and toxicology examination. The investigator reported that alcohol may have been a factor in Wiesner’s death.
