Flagler College announced to local Historic City News reporters that Assistant Professor of Communication Rosemary Tutt, APR, has earned her credential of Certified Public Relations Counselor.
The certification process was developed to recognize professional growth and achievement of senior members who have already earned the Accredited in Public Relations designation.
Candidates for certification must be a member of the Florida Public Relations Association and have a minimum of 10 years of professional practice in public relations.
In addition to teaching at Flagler, Tutt is also the faculty advisor to the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, as well as the Dow Advantage Group, a student-run public relations agency serving non-profit clients in the St. Augustine area. Professor Tutt describes herself as a “generally frustrated golfer with a ridiculously expensive set of new irons”.
Tutt now joins an elite group of less than 80 practitioners throughout the state.
She earned her M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kent State University and her B.A. in Public Relations from Ursuline College. Prior to her teaching career, she served as a professional public relations consultant as the owner and founder of a full-service public relations agency providing multi-media programs to a variety of non-profit and health care clients.
