Volunteers make Amphitheatre work

Posted on 07/21/201107/21/2011 By Historic City News

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre tells Historic City News local reporters that they could not operate without the help of their outstanding volunteers, and tonight’s concert will be proof of that.

Toby Keith returns to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for his “Locked & Loaded” Summer Tour and everyone is expecting a crowd.

Prior to the show, motorcycle lovers can participate in a pre-show ride from Harley-Davidson of St. Augustine. The ride will leave the dealership on SR-16 at 4:00 p.m. and end up at the Amphitheatre.

The $10 registration fee includes upfront motorcycle parking and early access into the venue before other patrons.

Volunteer ushers, parking attendants, tour guides and many other important roles are filled by dedicated community members that donate their time and skills to the facility.

If you would like to become a volunteer at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, please contact Sydney Lindblad at (904)209-0752. You can download the application form and return it to 1340C Anastasia Boulevard in St. Augustine, FL 32080.

The Amphitheatre also has a citizen support organization, Friends of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. This is a local, non-profit organization committed to making the Amphitheatre more accessible to the community.

With the help of your financial and volunteer support, FOSAA will expand cultural opportunities for schools and other organizations by subsidizing group attendance at Amphitheatre cultural events; as well as provide assistance to non-profit organizations that wish to rent the Amphitheatre for their own arts and cultural events.
