Pete Weiland, president of firefighters Local 2282 IAFF, reported to Historic City News that this Sunday, December 18th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the first annual Winter Wonderland Firefighter Chili Cookoff will be held at the St Augustine Amphitheatre.
Admission is free and tickets to sample a variety of chili, made by local firefighters and contestants from around the state, are available for a small donation to benefit Second Harvest.
Enjoy the afternoon at the Amphitheatre located at 1340 A1A South in St Augustine.
Live fire simulations will be staged as well as demonstrations of firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers and the “Jaws of Life”. Fire engines, ladder trucks and ambulances will all be open for public display as part of the activities, Weiland said.
