Slow Food First Coast reported to Historic City News that they are accepting applications from St Johns County elementary teachers who would like to receive a school garden kit valued at over $250.
Any currently employed St Johns or Duval County elementary school teacher can apply to the non-profit organization for a Garden Grant; using the application on their website at http://slowfoodfirstcoast.com/gardgrantFall2012.html
Completed applications must be received by Slow Food First Coast by Saturday, September 8, 2012, and can be mailed to Richard Villadóniga at Post Office Box 951, St Augustine, FL 32085-0951.
Winners will be judged and selected by a panel before September 15, 2012.
Slow Food First Coast works toward creating a food system that is based on the principles of quality and pleasure, environmental sustainability, and social justice.
